We Proved It!

We proudly announce that Manar Wahhab, House of Hope’s Co-Founder and Director of Trauma-Informed Education received her Master’s Degree in Non-Violence and Human Rights from Academic University of Non-Violence and Human Rights (AUNOHR) in Beirut, Lebanon!
AUNOHR is a first-of-its-kind accredited higher education institution offering innovative majors for social change through non-violence education. Last week, Manar successfully defended her Master’s thesis, titled “The Waldorf Way of Educating for Nonviolence: A Case Study in Al Eizariya, Area C, Occupied West Bank, Palestine.” Manar’s historic research project asserts that trauma-informed early childhood education is an effective, non-violent strategy for social change!

More peaceful childhoods create more peaceful societies. Palestinian children growing up under Occupation- like those at House of Hope- are chronically exposed to trauma and toxic stress. In Manar’s research project, 70% of House of Hope parents reported that the Occupation negatively impacts their child’s development.
Trauma-informed education WORKS. It can reverse trauma symptoms and get kids back on track to learning and developing into the next generation of community peace and justice leaders. In Manar’s thesis, nearly 50% of parents said House of Hope profoundly reduced their child’s toxic stress and trauma symptoms.
More peaceful childhoods create more peaceful societies. When you support House of Hope, you are reimagining and rewriting a future rooted in nonviolent training and trauma-informed education of children, guided by Palestinian leadership. Thank you for your support!
